Acupuncture gained attention in the United States after President Nixon visited China in 1972. Traveling with Nixon was New York Times reporter James Reston, who received acupuncture in China after undergoing an emergency appendectomy. Reston was so impressed with the post-operative pain relief the procedure provided that he wrote about acupuncture upon returning to the United States.

In 1997, the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) formally recognized acupuncture as a mainstream medicine healing option with a statement documenting the procedure's safety and efficacy for treating a range of health conditions. While awareness of acupuncture is growing, many conventional physicians are still unfamiliar with both the theory and practice of acupuncture.

Since than Chinese Medicine has developed rapidly in different aspects:

Schools of Chinese Medicine opened in the USA and Europe. The common program is full time 4 years program that integrate Western Medicine as part of the program.

Beside the Schools' Clinics for Acupuncture started to be part of the normal use of the public followed by Chinese herbal Medicine which started to be available on the end of the 80s. At the beginning of the 90s Tui-na was introduced to the west as major touch technique alongside with Qi Kong.

In Israel which the level and popularity of Chinese Medicine are at the highest in the western world the development is very rapid and the work for recognition is intensive and including great effort in 3 levels:

The first level of action is making TCM available everywhere in the country.

Today Chinese Medicine practiced in all Hospitals, Medical Centers, National Health Centers and hundreds of Private Clinics are spread all over the country.

The second level is the Education in which there are 4 main School for Chinese Medicine that train practitioners to the top professional level. There are hundreds of 4 years graduates every year in the average age of 30 years old.

The third level of action is getting Accreditation and Regulation of TCM

 by the Israeli Parliament. That work is cooperation between the health ministry of Israel and the Israeli Associations of Chinese Medicine.

My two organization that I have set up in the early nineties: East-West, the Israeli Center of Classic Chinese Medicine and the Israeli Association of Classic Chinese Medicine Practitioners are the largest in Israel and probably in the western world. The organizations includes Education Centers which has 4 years undergraduates program of Chinese Medicine, Postgraduates Center for advance study in TCM, 20 hospitals all around Israel that cooperate Chinese Medicine as part of their daily service, 80 Acupuncture Clinics all over Israel, Unique Clinics for ALS patients, Chinese herbs lab and Pharmacy, Chinese Medicine Cosmetics, Acupuncture needles production line, Library and cooperation with Zhongfang International Red Cross Hospital, which I had the honor to be one of the initiators together with Dr. Ming and I am holding the position of International Vice President of the Hospital.

In the personal level: I have been chosen to the NO 1 Chinese Medicine professional in Israel since the beginning of T.C.M in Israel, I am the Academic dean of East-West, the Israeli Center of Classic Chinese Medicine, The founder and president of the Israeli Association of Classic Chinese Medicine Practitioners.

My wish goal:

To spread the knowledge of T.C.M all over the world,

to improve the image of T.C.M in the western world,

To improve the quality of practitioners of T.C.M

To strengthen the bonding and mutual relationship between China and the western world.
